I don't have null serial cable right now and want to use Arduino UNO as a serial to USB converter.
It is possible and I used it before few times, you only need to take out microchip from Arduino.
From apu3a.pdf I've found that
Rx - GP04 - pin 7
Tx - GP05 - pin 8
From pin layout of Nuoton NCT 5104D chipset I found that pins GP04 and GP05 goes like on pictures attached to this post and they really are 7 and 8 pin of GPIO.
I connected them to Arduino (Rx to Tx and vice versa), Ground connected to ground in USB header as I could not find GND in GPIO.
I setup serial port to 38400, N, 1, using screen on Macbook:
screen /dev/cu.usbmodem1411 38400
But there is no output from GPIO. Is it working at all?
Do anybody tried to use GPIO for serial console?
