Dear PCEngines folk,
I'm looking for a small & affordable device to filter out / block BitTorrent traffic and do some traffic shaping for a medium size network of ~10-20 users / ~40-60 devices with an uplink of 100Mbps downstream / 10Mbps upstream and a second failover uplink (25 down / 2 up). In your experience, should an apu2c4 be able to provide that level of throughput? Snort 3 is multi-threaded, so could make use of all 4 cores. Still, the amount of bandwidth is nothing to sneeze at, so I'd be thankful for any opinions at all! As for software, I'd prefer not having to learn anything new, so would this likely work out okay with Debian instead of pfSense/OpenBSD/etc.? If it would only barely be enough, what about cooling? Afaiu, the enclosure sold by PCEngines acts as one big heatsink, but there's no active cooling...
