I have a ublox mini-PCI GPS that has PPS output. I was hoping to install this in the mini-PCI slot of the APU2 and directly connect the PPS output to the COM2 header of the board so I can use it as a clock source for NTP. Will I need some sort of voltage regulator as serial is 5V and mini-PCI is 3.3V?
This is the GPS module -http://emerythacks.blogspot.in/2013/01/u-blox-pci-5s-cheap-gps-module-for-your.html
The stuff I found so far talks about GPS modules that work with 5V and connect to a DB9 plug. I wish to power it via mini-PCI and send the PPS output to the 2nd COM port on the APU2C4 so ntpd can access it.
What's the way to achieve this?
