Hi there all,
Matt here, greetings from germany.
I'm interested in getting an apu2c4, but I don't own a RS232 cable. As far as I could gather the serial console seems only needed for initial first time setup. As soon as os installer takes over, wich can be run over ssh, anything else can be done remote.
TBH - buy a rs232 cable for 5 to 10 bucks for only one-time-use is still - well - useless after all.
As somewhere is noted "just plugin a usb drive with tinylinux ..." blah blah blah. So, when it is able to boot from a usb drive when there is no bootable system is found on sd-card or mSATA - is it also able to boot over PXE? What is the overall boot-order - no matter if a bootable os is installed on any attached drive. So I'm running some systems over PXE diskless - but I've never had a system I could not setup to boot over PXE. Sadly I couldn't find any information about this topic. Would be nice if someone could give me a hint about overall boot-order w/o any interaction over serial console. Or, to be a bit more precise, how to achieve this: When a mSATA is plugged as system drive - but not yet set up - how to get the system boot over PXE w/o using serial console to select manual select PXE? I just don't waste money for something useless I will only use exactly one time just for exactly three button inputs - F10 to enter bootmenu - 3 for setup - g for network/pxe boot.
Thanks in advance
