I recently got a hold of a new APU2C4 and had no issues installing pfSense 2.3.2 full install with serial console. The 16GB mSATA ssd took it well and it's working like a champ.
After configuring it the way I wanted I started to do some tests to see what I was looking at in terms of throughput as compared to the ALIX board it replaced. The web interface is much faster and more responsive.
However when running iperf tests between it and another host on the LAN I'm only getting 230~250 Mbps throughput.
I checked on the pfSense forums and there is talk there that enabling PowerD and selecting hiadaptive would allow the processors to work harder, but no amount of fussing with the power schemes will improve the throughput.
I was wondering if anyone had some pointers or tips to see if I can coax a little more speed out of this unit. The folks on the pfSense forums say that they're getting on average 500~600 Mbps throughput with a stock install so I'm definately running into some sort of road block here.
Any help or insight would be appreciated!
