Does the sata port support port multiplying functionality?
Thanks for your response!
On my APU2C4 I can say it does. I have connected a Lian-li EX-50 5 e-sata drive enclosure in JBOD mode [http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/ex-50/] to an e-sata to sata cable plugged in the internal sata port of the APU2C4.
At boot, the bios sees one single drive.
Then I booted the current ubuntu server installer off an USB key. Boot messages and the shell console in the installer show all the drives. In my case, 7 devices: 1 m-sata, 1 usb key, 5 x sata HDD.
I don't intend to run with this configuration so I did not test further. Perhaps if an APU2 variant down the road features 2 sata ports...
I do not know if APU1 behaves the same way. I can only vouch for PMP support in APU2C4.
